I just wrapped up my second season with Naach by Nisha, and I can’t say enough good things. Nisha has a gift for making everyone feel welcome regardless of skill level. The season culminates in a showcase where you get to perform for family and friends — it’s such a special experience. The community she’s built is full of talented, kind, supportive women and I feel so lucky to be part of it.
Nisha is a fantastic teacher — and not every good dancer can be a good teacher. She is always rooting for you, accepts people where they are, and pushes them in a healthy, respectful manner. She brings in the famous Bollywood hook steps that make a dance fun, but also stretches you in classical and folk styles. I’ve been part of her classes for three seasons and I look forward to the day of class each week!
I’ve been a part of Naach by Nisha for the past 4 seasons and not only have I improved greatly as a dancer, but I have found a community of friends. Class every week feels like a bright spot and I can’t wait to go and have a great time. Thank you Nisha for building such a beautiful community!
Naach by Nisha is a fabulous place to learn various forms of Indian dancing — Bollywood, Bhangra, Garba, semi-classical to name a few. Nisha was so patient with my whole group — she would even offer alternate choreography if it was easier to grasp. Even to this day my husband and I still dance with Nisha’s steps when our song comes on!

Nisha Palvia has over 25 years of experience in Bollywood and Indian dance. Based in San Francisco, she teaches at Smuin Dance Center in Bollywood, semi-classical, bhangra, garba, and fusion styles.
Known for her patience, warmth, and keen attention to detail, Nisha has a special gift for working with beginners and helping them grow in confidence and technique. Every student who walks through her door leaves a performer.
